Itinerary: 8-Day Classic Adventure Tour from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert and Morocco’s Imperial Cities.

The 8-day Classic adventure Tour from Marrakech to the Sahara Desert and Morocco’s Imperial Cities is a great mix of history, culture, and adventure. The tour begins in Marrakech, where you’ll explore the old Medina, busy markets, and famous sites like the Koutoubia Mosque and Djemaa el Fna square. After Marrakech, you’ll travel to Rabat and Fez, two historical cities full of culture. In Rabat, the capital, you’ll see the Royal Palace, Hassan Tower, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. In Fez, visit the ancient Medina and Al-Karaouine University, the world’s oldest university. Next, head to the Sahara Desert for an unforgettable adventure. You’ll travel through beautiful landscapes, including the Atlas Mountains, and reach the huge sand dunes of Merzouga. Ride camels through the desert, watch amazing sunsets and sunrises, and stay overnight in a Berber camp under the stars.

Throughout the tour, you’ll learn about Berber culture, visit nomadic families, and enjoy traditional Moroccan food. This tour combines the luxury of Morocco’s cities with the beauty of the Sahara Desert, making it a truly memorable experience.

Day 1: MARRAKECH AIRPORT PICK UP.

The first day of our 8 day Sahara desert classic adventure tour from Marrakech. Upon your landing, we will get you at the Marrakech airplane terminal for an Exchange to Marrakech Medina overnight on a Riad.

Day 2: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE – DADES VALLEY.

Our classic tour from Marrakech. Traverse the high Atlas Mountains to reach the ancient Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a backdrop for famous films. Continue along the road of a thousand kasbahs, witness the valley of roses, and discover the local traditions surrounding this fragrant flower. Finally, journey to the Dades Valley and Crevasses for an unforgettable overnight stay.

Day 3: DADES VALLEY – TODRA GORGES – ALNIF – M’HARECH DESERT.

In the morning, we drive to Tinghir, home to the Todra Chasms, with landscapes similar to Colorado—high plateaus, deep canyons, and eroded peaks. Some peaks rise over 4000 m, with Jbel Mgoun at 4068 m, the highest. The area is inhabited by Berbers, and you can enjoy a hike through these stunning canyons. Afterward, we pass through Berber villages, stop for lunch in Alnif, and continue through desert and volcanic mountains, reaching M’harech Chasm for an overnight stay.

Day 4: M’HARECH DESERT SAFARI – ERG CHEBBI DESERT – DESERT CAMP.

We start the day driving along the Paris-Dakar route, passing nomadic tents and stopping for tea with a nomadic family. We then visit the ancient village of Alkhamliya and enjoy a Berber pizza lunch. In the afternoon, we explore the Erg Chebbi dunes and take a camel ride to witness a stunning sunset over the sand. We end the day at a Berber desert camp, enjoying the starry night sky.

Day 5: MERZOUGA DESERT – ZIZ VALLEY – MIDELT – IFRANE – FES.

In the early morning, you’ll hike to the top of the hills to watch the sunrise, then return to the camp for breakfast. Afterward, we’ll drive through Erfoud and Ziz Valley, crossing the High Atlas Mountains towards Midelt for lunch. After lunch, we’ll continue through the cedar forests, stopping to see wild monkeys, then drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Ifrane, the Swiss city of Morocco, for a short stroll. Finally, we’ll head to Fez for dinner and an overnight stay. This marks the end of the 8-day Classic Marrakech Desert Tour.

Day 6: FES MEDINA – MEKNES.
After visiting Casablanca and Rabat, we continue to Fez, the intellectual capital of Morocco. Known as the Mecca of the West and Athens of Africa, Fez is the country’s second-largest city and a former capital.
The city is divided into three parts:
•Fez el Bali, the oldest part, with over 9,000 narrow streets and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
•Fez-Jdid, the new part, including the Mellah (Jewish quarter) and Ville Nouvelle from the French occupation.
Fez is also home to the University of Al-Karaouine, the oldest university in the world, founded in AD 859 and still operational today. After exploring Fez, we’ll drive to Meknes for an overnight stay.
Day 7: MEKNES – VOLUBILIS – RABAT – MARRAKECH.

In the morning and after breakfast, you will begin a little visit to Meknes is the site of the principal Middle Easterner tradition made by Moulay Ismail and has the Medersa Bouinania and the Bab Mansour, the Passage to Moulay Ismail Royal residence.
