Merzouga is a tiny town in the Sahara Desert in the south of Morocco. It’s like the entrance to the Erg Chebbi sand dunes at the town’s edge. These sand dunes are really tall and change colors when the sun is rising or setting. The best way to enjoy the desert is by riding on a camel and spending a night at a desert camp. Many companies offer these trips, but they can be different in cost, comfort, and experience. BEST TIME TO TRAVEL TO MERZOUGA & ERG CHEBBI DESERT.
The best time we recommend for traveling to Merzouga is from September to May. This time of the year, the temperature and weather is usually moderately. In addition we are against the people who not recommend Sahara Desert in summer a reason of there are nice hotels and camps with swimming pool, so you can experience the desert and relax in the swimming pool or your room with AC.
ERG CHIGAGA DESERT.
Erg Chegaga, also known as Erg Chigaga, is a stunning group of sand dunes in southeast Morocco. It’s about 500 km from Marrakech, 310 km from Ouarzazate, and just 45 km from the small village of Mhamid. This place is like the charming Sahara desert of Morocco, with its golden sand dunes and different Ergs (sand formations). BEST TIME TO VISIT ERG CHIGAGA.
The ideal time to visit Erg Chigaga is from October to April when the temperatures are pleasant. In the summer months (June, July, and August), it gets extremely hot, reaching over 50 degrees Celsius (120°F). Almost all camps and facilities in the area are closed during this time, so it’s better to plan your visit when the weather is milder and more comfortable.
